I successfully completed my week of getting back into gear. On Friday I was so sore from my intense gym workout, so I decided to take it easy and do a 30 minute yoga session and an ab workout. Saturday I was still crazy sore but decided to go for a run to loosen my muscles. I ran around a lake in Central Park. It was a really nice day. I was feeling a bit down so running really helped me clear my head and feel a little bit better. Then Sunday I decided I needed a “Rest Day” because my muscles were really begging me for it, so I did a light 30 minute yoga session to stretch and allow my muscles to heal. Today I went to the gym and focused on arms. I did a few leg workouts and abs as well, but definitely a much lighter workout than Thursday. My intensity level was also not very high. I was feeling down again, so I found it extremely difficult to concentrate and my mind was just not in the gym. My body was physically present, but my mind was so not. I hate this feeling. I always try to think back to this one quote from Legally Blonde when I workout…
“Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy, happy people just don’t shoot their husbands….. they just don’t.”
Anyway, so now I am going to go distract myself. I worked out, I have endorphins, and I deserve to be happy!
